My first book brought joy, understanding, and a conversation for families. The first commercial in 2014 for The Family Jones and The Eggs of Rex shows why and how it matters.
I took my daughter to the bookstore. We combed through all the sections and couldn’t find any books with black or brown faces. Instead of complaining about it, I decided to write a book. Just like that. I just decided to do it even though I knew nothing about the book publishing process. Little did I know that was just the beginning of what would lead me to publish several books, expand my artistry, and be the creator of the Seattle Urban Book Expo.
Join us for a celebration of Black and Brown literature. Meet local authors and attend workshops!
